Ad-Aware - Spyware and Malware Remover

If you use Internet Explorer to surf the web then there is a very high likelyhood that it has allowed various nasty little bits of software to be installed on your system without you knowing about it. This helps get rid of them.

Doesn't look as nice as Ad-Aware but is just as good at getting rid of the little nasties that Internet Explorer allows people to install on your machine without your knowledge. Just to be on the safe side you can always run both.

A free virus software program that will work on Linux as well as Windows, nice and easy to use. You could also shell out 40 bucks and get the pro version which has all the advanced settings and 24/7 tech support. I just use the free one though - Kit
