On Sunday we were lucky enough to be given VIP passes, by my very nice boss Nick, to the Pickup racing at Rockingham Speedway.  As Jen stayed at the house for an exciting Guiding event the girls, Dad, Dave and Finn all joined me for the trip.

The day itself was great.  With breakfast and lunch laid on, 2 Pickup races, a whole host of other races, all the warm up and qualifying sessions, access to the pits, multiple chances to meet the driver, John Mickel (who was brilliant at putting up with Emily suddenly becoming his biggest fan), the chance to sit in his Pickup and walk the grid before the first race the day just flew past.

I have said it before, but just to re-iterate a huge thank you to both Nick and John who helped make it a really nice day and as Finn so brilliantly commented (without any prompting) while the last race was going on 'This has been a really great day out' :)
